Because a nature school will not look like your traditional classroom with four-walls, families must understand our values and goals before they enroll their child with us.  Students here may demonstrate their knowledge in very different ways than they would in a "typical" classroom.  At Valencia, you won't see us testing students to see if they've made progress on their letter sounds.  But you might see us enjoying countless read-alouds on a warm blanket under the sun, diving deep into new vocabulary based on shared experiences, and practicing foundational literacy skills orally.
